What Customers Say About Best of 70s Supergroups:

Check out one of those albums to hear just how underrated the band is. Check out the Not Fragile album instead. "3. "5.

More than a Feeling -- Boston"A pop band that has been played WAY too often over the years. Never Been to Spain -- Three Dog Night"Turns out Three Dog Night likes to write consistent albums with lots of melody and interesting arrangements. Taking Care of Business -- BTO"Everything I said about Styx applies to BTO. Styx are a better band than this. Go forward and explore those albums. There's the entire albums of Santana III, Caravanserai, Love, Devotion & Surrender, and even the Welcome album that contain better songs "8.

"14. Evil Woman -- ELO"Nowhere near their best song. American Woman -- The Guess Who"Recently some mid 70's Guess Who albums have been issued on CD that contain a BUNCH of melodic and fantastic songs. Green Eyed Lady -- Sugarloaf"The Guess Who has some fantastic albums, and so does Sugarloaf. Kansas were a progressive rock band in the early days of their career, and more interesting than this song. Now you know what to do- ignore this comp completely. You can just listen to one of hundreds of American classic rock stations to hear every single song on this disc-"1.

"7. "11. Come Sail Away -- Styx"Has some good guitar playing in the second half, but again, we've heard this song way too many times over the years. "9. "13. "2. So Into You -- Atlanta Rhythm Section"Good song, but an even better album band. Sweet Home Alabama -- Lynyrd Skynyrd"Ever hear a song called "The Needle and the Spoon." If not, you should know that's just one of many better Lynyrd Skynyrd songs than this overplayed one.

"10. Spaceship Earth being a REALLY good one. "12. Dust in the Wind -- Kansas"Afraid not, my friends. That's a good start. I Just Want to Celebrate -- Rare Earth"I'm tired of celebrating this song because I've heard it too many times. Help is On Its Way -- Little River Band"Wow, something that hasn't been played a million times on radio stations. That would be "Daybreaker" or "The Whale".

We're an American Band -- Grand Funk"Maybe if I'm lucky, one day I'll come online and see a comp that contains better Grand Funk songs such as "Time Machine" or their raw version of "Gimme Shelter". Black Magic Woman -- Santana"haha, not even CLOSE to being one of Santana's best songs. "4. "6.

This is a compilation work; there are some good songs that I wanted and just don't play the rest. Sometimes you buy a CD for a few songs.

The album ends with Kansas doing their major hit "Dust In The Wind." What an awesome ending for this album.Overall, The Best Of 70s Supergroups is a great value with tons of hits on an inexpensive CD. "So Into You" by Atlanta Rhythm Section sounds a bit syrupy compared to the rocking tunes on this album; but it is quite a strong number anyway. Great guitars on "Taking Care Of Business," too. Sure, it's not as complete as it could be--but for the price you can scarcely complain. They harmonize well and the guitars work perfectly for this number. The Best of 70s Supergroups is a budget priced CD that gives us an awesome fourteen tracks despite the low price.

"Come Sail Away" is easily one of all time favorite rock songs ever."Taking Care Of Business" by Bachman Turner Overdrive is another classic hard rocking song from the 1970s; and I bet this'll make you want to jump up and start dancing wherever you are. This number rocks soft and slow to make a romantic effect that really works well. The quality of the sound is quite good.Boston's "More Than A Feeling" opens with their great singing, electric guitars and percussion; the melody is infectiously catchy and the tune also rocks like anything. There's also, of course, Lynyrd Skynyrd doing their incredible "Sweet Home Alabama." Lynyrd Skynyrd never sounded better and the lyrics to this song are captivating even today. I highly recommend this album for fans of those rockin' tunes from the `70s. I like "More Than A Feeling" very much.ELO's "Evil Woman" really rocks in a big way; and listen especially for Styx and their awesome, classic ballad entitled "Come sail Away." "Come Sail Away" works on many levels: the piano arrangement is quite elegant for a rockin' tune; and when the electric guitars and the singing of the main ballad comes in this number takes off like a jet.

In addition, listen for Three Dog Night's soulful, rockin' ballad called "Never Been to Spain." Three Dog Night truly prove how great they were with "Never Been To Spain."Grand Funk's "We're An American Band" is another major highlight of this album and I predict that you will enjoy this tune very much.

FAR OUT. I PURCHASED THIS CD FOR MY DAUGHTER, BUT I REALLY LIKE TO LISTEN TO THESE SONGS MYSELF. THERE IS A GOOD MIX OF SEVERAL DIFFERENT STYLES AND MUSICIANS HERE.

I'm a 70s high school grad.if you are too, you'll really enjoy this cd.not just 'some' but ALL the selections.
